Engagement party dresses… take a look into how I styled mine.

Okay, so now I have found the perfect dress… it’s time for the fun part and what we do best at FORGE CHIFFON… styling looks for maximum impact

Now back to styling the look…

 So, if you hadn’t already guessed… I fell head over heels for the oh-so-sweetly hued Rebecca Vallance love mini dress. This dress echo’s the essence of my style… a contemporary silhouette with structured movement and clean lines that slyly flirts with romance as the shoulders are adorned with a feminine bow detail.

So, with the dress making a statement on its own, I slipped on a pair of nude court shoes for a barely there look. When finding your perfect nude heel ensure the shade matches your skin tone seamlessly, taking into account if you are going to bronze up your skin with a spray tan as you want to create the illusion of the shoe fading away. Always elongate your legs where possible.

Lucky for me, no bag needed due to the venue which allowed me to float around the party with ease, however if I were to carry a clutch I would opt for a soft pink or silver clutch with ever-so-subtle detail to add a playful touch while letting the dress take centre stage.

To elevate the look, I embellished my lobes and décolletage with a dusting of diamonds… I paired white gold floral earrings, a pendant dangling from a delicate white gold chain, both sprinkled with vibrant white diamonds… the perfect diamond jewellery set for my complexion. Finishing my jewels of with…the adornment of the moment… my spectacular engagement ring! (My heart still skips a beat every time I catch a glimpse of its sparkle!).

To give my ring the attention it deserves, I glided on a coat of pale pink polish. Framing my ring next to my dress, drawing the eye straight to my diamonds dazzling luminosity.

When it came to styling my hair, I was a little more indecisive in comparison to the rest of my look.

My contemporary personality immediately started to think of straight and sleek hairstyles, however as the dress has a slight romantic influence and the night is all about romance, I opted for rippling feminine waves.

 Lastly for makeup, I wanted to capture a look that was timeless, elegant and enhanced natural beauty. I focused on a flawlessly velvety base, brightening under my eyes and the highest points of my face. To amp up the look and make my blue eyes pop I swept beautiful bronze tones across my lids, defining my eye by buffing a darker chocolate hue into my crease with an eyeshadow blending brush… if there is one tip I can give you when applying your eyeshadow, its blend, blend, blend and when you think you are done, blend some more! There is nothing more unforgiving than harsh lines in the makeup world. To finish off my eyes I paired a classic winged liner and voluminous feathery lashes.  Completing the makeup look by keeping the brows brushed out, lips nude and matte and of course illuminated my cheeks and nose bridge with a buttery powder highlighter. Natural radiance enhancing my golden-glow spray tan.

Oh how I love this look!

On the afternoon of the party I felt the nerves creeping in, but once my hair and makeup were done, my dress was on and the finishing touches of beautifully handcrafted fine jewellery were added, the confidence was overwhelming… it was a look styled perfectly for me and with all elements coming together to create a pristine balance of elegance, sophistication and femininity.

A perfect dress for a perfect night….

Then once everyone has seen the dress on social media, it’s time to say goodbye and put it away in my closet and eventually I guess this beautiful dress will end up at the back…forgotten….OR NOT!
