Work your Fashion into a Style with Jewels and more Jewels…
Yep, quite a basic look for me, not quite my normal aesthetic but that’s what styling is all about…trying something different and working it out through styling. Making it yours and even better making it your best YOU.
So let’s have a chat …
I’m a romantic as a lot of you probably know by now. For me it’s all about detail and more detail, from prints to lace to a wide range of accessories. So my first challenge here is that this look is void of my much loved detail.
This look really didn’t cost a lot of $’s, from memory everything was on sale. Which creates another challenge for me, will it feel right on… will it be classy enough...will I feel elevated…successful and will it drape the way I have become a custom too?
A very important point to make here is that I can see how these individual pieces will fit into my wardrobe and be great staples. It’s also easy to see how each piece will be able to be worn multiple ways… which always gets a big tick from me. Of course block coloured staples are always much easier to work with but putting all that aside, my issue is …I FEEL BORING…so let me share with you how I’m going to make this look ME and love it and guess what? I know that after this I will want to wear it on repeat!
Fashion is simply fashion, hanging, waiting for us to create a style…so here is a description of the fashion I have to work with…
High waisted, paper bag black shorts with a sneaky little lace detailing around the hem…just for the romantics, teamed with a plain white T-shirt and layered up with a dusty pink blazer and nude heels.
As you probably know by now, but for those first timers that have finally come across one of our blogs, yes, I’m a stylist but I’m also a designer and maker of fine jewellery so I have, over the years developed a fine eye for detail. So when I style, whether it’s for a personal client or editorial, I always like to complete looks with fine jewellery.
Styling jewellery with fashion is my passion and they BELONG together!
Now the magic happens…
I have chosen rose gold for my metal colour and champagne south sea pearls and akoya pearls. All hues and tones matching my individual complexion while keeping the look tonal.
Bringing elegance…creativity and radiance to the style.
Let’s start with the earrings…
Beautifully handcrafted in metal, created to represent flow with structure to cradle the exquisite south sea pearls. Gently dropping from the lobe to elongate my silhouette while the pearls amazing lustre does its job, enhancing my complexion with their amazing lustre.
The pendant, also set with a champagne south sea pearl has been designed to dangle from a delicate double chain, falling just above my cleavage point which now introduces a touch of cool white gold, blending with the white T-shirt . Again, enhancing and elevating…
Layering and completing the styled look with another detail, a creative detail….a long pearl strand incorporating different shaped and sized pearls from akoya to south sea pearls in different hues and tones but always, for this look, I’m keeping it tonal. The necklace falling just below the breast, working it’s magic to elongate my silhouette once again.
The jewellery works here to draw the eye around the body…bringing focus to the beautiful jewellery and how it enhances the look while elongating.
The fashion is now styled and WOW I feel it, classy…creative and elegant.
