Chapter 4....
A romantic’s take on edgy chic style….
Welcome back to our final blog in this mini series… styling my engagement party dress…
Chapter 4
If you are up-to-date with our pervious blogs chapter 1- chapter 2- chapter 3, you would know we have styled this dress from contemporary occasion wear to cool girl street style and now it’s time to amp it up a notch with a look that I bet you didn’t see coming!
Romantics be warned this look clashes your oh-so-feminine personality with an unexpected edgy chic style which will be sure to have you letting your inner rebel run wild.
So, to master this perfect contradiction of personalities just keep reading!
As you may already have guessed, I started with my pink-perfect engagement party dress…. while this dresses silhouette has a contemporary feel with its clean lines and structured fabric, in its sweet-like-candy hue and lady-like bows, it also awakens any romantics fashion senses…
With the dress as our base, it’s time to add some edge to the look with the outer-wear… and what’s better than a leather jacket to do this? But like I said this look is for our romantics ladies, so to bring the look back into your personality I have selected a peplum leather jacket with laser cut-out floral detail.
Stylist tip*** when mixing personalities select pieces that have an element or detail that reflect your true personality…… this will have you feeling your most confident when stepping out in your new style.
To balance out the look I opted for throw-on-the-go black leather ankle boots that pair perfectly with the leather jacket. The boot that I have selected has a mid-heel of 6cms which brings a lady-like mood to the grudge footwear and won’t have you regretting your shoe choice while you’re out and about.
When it comes to styling a bag to swing from your arm while wearing this style there is no other choice than the Spencer and Rutherford Nina bag in the colourway Fiesta. An eye catching bag without a doubt….with its coloured leathers, scalloped details and bold printed velvet fabric with abstract florals, striking the perfect balance between romantic and edgy, making it a must-have accessory for this look.
As this outfit is anything but understated, simplistic jewellery in a harmonious colourway will make the perfect adornments and complete the look. Pink tourmaline and lemon quartz earrings with a matching bracelet are our selected must-haves. They have been designed and handcrafted by UMUN Jewellery studio to enhance the alluring hues in the Nina shoulder bag. Embracing the romantic charm through the natural gemstones with their unique shapes, delicate hues and subtle textures.
To complete the look I have styled my hair in tousled waves where imperfection is key… curling my locks but leaving the ends straight, finishing the look by simply running my fingers through and adding a spritz of hairspray for the all-important, hold and volume.
As for my makeup…. I went for a day-time approved look with an edgy yet romantic twist… firstly completing my base then focusing on my eyes…blending a rich chocolate tone into the crease and finishing with an edgy winged eyeliner in a vibrant pink hue for a feminine feel.
And there you have it… romantic meets edgy!
Now it’s time for you to start playing with different personalities for a fresh take on your personal style… and why not give new life to your occasion wear dresses while you are at it!
