Chapter 3.
Have you ever thought why do we wear our casual outfits on rotation, but we never want to be seen in our occasion wear dresses twice?...
Think back to the last event you attended…. what was your first thought?….was it “what am I going to wear?….and I had better start looking for a new dress!”
Knowing that at the very back of your closet, past the heavy winter jackets that only come out once in a blue moon are a bunch of beautiful occasion dresses that have only seen the light of day (or night) once?
I knew it!
Don’t worry we are all guilty of a one wear wonder… but what if I told you that you could give your evening dresses new life?
Keep reading to see how I styled my engagement dress from pretty in pink evening wear to cool girl street style in a matter of minutes.
Firstly, to off-set the sweetness of the dress I ditched the heels and slipped on my go-to white sneakers… a must-have in every woman’s wardrobe all year-round that pair perfectly with nearly every look!
Trust me, you will be surprised if you start experimenting.
Then I threw the eye-catching Spencer & Rutherford…. Hedi carry all from the “Fly Me Away” range over my shoulder for a contemporary chic day-time option… the bags playful cross hatch design brings a striking statement to the outfit, while the colourway flows seamlessly throughout the look.
When It came to fine jewellery for this look, I didn’t have to think twice… (besides my beloved engagement ring that never leaves my finger).
I selected a delicate necklace and bracelet with fine drop earrings to match from a collection of jewellery which was inspired by the Hedi carry all tote.
Each piece is handcrafted with lustrous Freshwater pearls and alluring Rhodochrosite gemstones.
A captivating design yet understated, complimenting all skin tones as the Rhodochrosite’s warm based pink is interrupted with a stream of soft white and enhanced with the freshwater pearls.
The complete range is available at UMUN jewellery studio.
For my hair I styled it straight, embracing my natural wispy movement for an immaculately undone look.
To pair with the perfectly imperfect hair I went for a natural makeup look. I applied light-weight foundation, brushed out my brows and swept a dusting of bronzer into my crease to brighten up my blue-green eyes. Lastly, I added a natural flush of colour to the apples of my cheeks and illuminated my complexion with a cream highlighter for a dewy glow… simple, easy and oh-so stunning.
So, before you go and put your party dresses away, have a play with them… you might just find they look amazing worn casual!
