Refresh your closet with zest.....

Refresh your closet with zest.....

Let’s talk about orange… its beautiful, its bright, its bold and it’s a colour we all tend to steer away from.

While orange is notorious in the fashion world for being difficult to pull-off, with only one season having the vibrant colour in their preferred palette… but orange is having a fashion moment. So, no matter what your season, add the hue to your most-wanted list this autumn.

Let me show you how to give your closet a hit of this vibrate citrus hue without compromising your complexion.

But before I share my styling tips… as I mentioned before, there is one lucky season that wears orange effortlessly and that season is autumn.

If you are an autumn you can wear all shades, from deep peach to earthy terra cotta as there is warmth in this hue, highlighting the golden undertone of your wonderfully warm complexion.

When styling, have fun with this hue and pair it with anything and everything… enjoy!

So, now if you are still with me…. like myself you have a bit more trouble styling this must-have hue… but don’t worry by the end of this blog you will be wearing orange with a new found confidence.

While we are on the topic of colour, lets continue shall we?

My first tip is to select an orange in your seasons best tone… winters go bright, summers opt for softer shades and springs, keep it clear, bright and light.

Style your perfect orange with a block hue that is in your seasonal palette. By doing this it will give balance to your look and create a distraction from the orange that’s not complimenting your complexion completely. When selecting your block hue, neutrals are always a failsafe option, by why not break the boundaries and try pairing orange with a highly contrasting hue for a look that makes an entrance.

Once you have found colours that pair perfectly with your best orange and your complexion, style your look with the orange element away from your face as this is where you will notice the impact of colour on your complexion the most. Think skirts, pants or even a knit with a collared shirt in your best hue peeping out of the neckline.

But don’t worry…. If you have an orange top or dress that you have fallen head over heels for... I get it… I’ve been there… and lucky for you I’ve figured out the perfect style solution!

Here’s my story…

I fell in love with an orange sweater while shopping the majestic lane ways of Melbourne and just had to have it… not thinking at the time about how difficult it would be to style with my icy winter complexion!

After much experimentation I discovered the power of jewellery. By simply adorning my lobes and neck with fine jewellery in my best colours and metals, I was able to magically enhance my complexion while elevating my look…and all while wearing this beautiful hue….bonus!

So when curating your new season’s wardrobe don’t be afraid to add a burst of orange to your look… but be warned: your mood may be lifted when wearing this happy hue!

Bye for now….Olivia xx
