Is it time to shake up your style repertoire?
Have a think about your personal style…
What you wear every day, what you wear on a night out, how you accessorise…
Now have a think about your personality…
Do you see any similarities?
You have probably heard the phrase ‘fashion is a form of self-expression’ but no matter how tired the saying is, our style is a way to say who we are without having to say a word.
For me… I am very much a contemporary girl… I love all things modern, refined and on-trend…
But the same styles on rotation can seem like a bit of a drag… am I right?
Well today I’m going to share a must-have look of mine that dabbles in a dramatic personality for a strikingly unique style with a fashion-forward edge… however read with caution as this blog may have you shaking up your style repertoire… don’t say I didn’t warn you!
I styled this look with the focus on a statement knit that undeniably commands attention!
A vibrant hue and unexpected texture that screams dramatic style…which as you now know is a little outside my comfort zone! So, to bring the contemporary mood back into this outfit, I tucked the knit into a pair of oh-so-now cropped leather pants and pulled on my go-to ankle boots, adding a instant cool factor.
For one last dramatic clash, I dangled the eye-catching Riley mini over my shoulder… the bags rich detail, print and colour way added a creative flair to the ensemble for a jarringly fabulous effect.
My jewellery selection is minimal and elegant… a delicate white gold chain and floral earrings both embellished with a sprinkling of dancing diamonds paired nicely with a contemporary diamond dress ring and of course my exquisite engagement ring (love, love, love). The white metal and diamonds complement my winter complexion perfectly while the enchanting contemporary design elevates without complicating my look.
To complete the look, I scored the perfect balance between dramatic and contemporary with a matte black winged liner and a dusting of twinkling highlighter at the highest point of my cheeks.
Leaving attention to the makeup… I styled my locks sleek and straight, slipping some tresses behind my ear which perfectly show-cased my show stopping earrings… because diamonds like these need to take centre stage!
So, that’s my contemporary take on dramatic style… finding the perfect balance between the two personalities to ensure I feel comfortable and confident when stepping out.
Now I challenge you to ditch your go-to’s and refresh your style by welcoming different personalities into your everyday wear… will it be romantic? Will it be classic? Maybe even vintage!
